Spring 2013 "Basics" Collection & Giveaway: ISLAMICGEMS

Self taught hijab jewelry designer Nida Mirza, builds on her strong Islamic traditions as well as her interest in design. In 2003, while completing her dual degrees at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in Manhattan, New York; she realized the lack of hijab friendly accessories. This motivated her to create contemporary hijab jewelry for herself and her friends. Forward to 2013, we bring to you her latest collection:

sM: Why "Basics"?

Nida: Throughout the past few years I have been repeatedly asked if i carry stick pins without a dangle. I've had sisters approach me looking for a very simple pin that is not a brooch. They expressed the fact that they love the quality of an ISLAMICGEMS stick pin and have not been able to find pins of similar quality anywhere else, but that they preferred the decorative portion of the pin to be stationary. No longer wanting to leave my sisters disappointed I decided on going "Back to the Basics", and what better way to do that than by introducing this collection in earthy browns, lustrous pearls, and sky blue turquoise stones- the basic colors of our natural surroundings.

To participate:

1.Follow ISLAMICGEMS on Facebook and Twitter
2. Tweet me at Sweet Modesty mentioning @ISLAMICGEMS why you would like to try one of their pins.
3. Share image HERE with your friends.

The winner will receive on FEB. 24th any pin of their choosing from the Basics collection!

Good luck ladies!
